BUYING YOUR FIRST HOME GUIDELINE:

1. Set a clear budget first.
Before you fall in love with a home you can’t comfortably afford, know where your budget stands-and what your true must-haves are.

At the end of the day, once the excitement of buying settles down, what matters most is how you feel about the decision you made: comfortable, confident, and in control, with long-term peace of mind and financial stability.

I know it can be difficult to stick to a budget when there are so many beautiful homes and features to choose from. But remember: you’re buying one home—the one that meets your needs and priorities.

2. Look beyond the purchase price.
Buying a home involves more than the offer price. Consider property taxes, inspection fees, legal fees, utilities, ongoing maintenance, and other costs that come with homeownership.

Being informed about these expenses can help you set a realistic budget and stay within it.

3. Think beyond move-in day.
A well-planned budget helps keep your finances healthy long after you move in. The goal is to feel that you own your home—not that your home owns you- while avoiding the stress of living paycheck to paycheck.

A home should give you a sense of comfort, confidence, and stability—not financial pressure.
